SASH Gazette -
June 2004 5/14/2004 May you rest in Peace!
we had a few posse members pass out from the heat. The turnout for the May match was purty good - 36 in all...and me, Ms. Fyre, (that’s pronounced “fire” not “fry” for you dislexic folks) sick as a dog, but I did my duty as club secretary, passin’ the coffers around for the greenbacks and tallyin’ scores. Blackjack Derringer has done it again, and made some unbelievable stage set-ups for us this month. With names like “Pick A Pair”, “Defend the Train” and “Ambush at Boothill”, you know there was quite a bit o’ lead flyin’ down range - and some of ‘em hit the targets too! The Cates family came out for their second month, and made it official this time. Clifton “Redwood”, Kimberly “Sage Hen” and K’Lynn (just K’Lynn) have boosted our men, women and junior shooter categories by one each! Welcome to the gang! We’ve also had a few posse members movin’ onto bigger praries - SASH member Frank “Steelstroke” Hayden and Roy “Forrest Jaeger” Carrick (a black powder guest shooter for a few months). It was nice shootin’ with y’all and gettin to know you better! We wish you and your families the best!
Safety, safety, safety. The Board wants to remind everyone that no weapons should be uncased at your vehicles or anywhere else other than the side berms. Rifles and shotguns cannot be moved to the racks until the range is called “hot.” Also, with the Hawaiian summer rollin’ in - don’t forget to bring water or other liquids to keep you cool. Thankfully cowboy hats (or massive sombreros) have large brins to keep the sun off of your head, so don’t forget ‘em!
SHOOTING SPORTS FAIR: It’s coming up next month (June 26 & 27). We are asking for ammo donations of rifle/revolver rounds only.
