But Chokes on the Turkey ...Shoot in the 1st Round!

24 shooters braved the gusty trade winds this month, and kicked up some dirt and the monthly standings! Two formal stages were set up this month, and since our shoot came before Thanksgiving this year, we had a single elimination Turkey Shoot for the 3rd stage (with the top 3 shooters winning gift certificates from Foodland).

Everyone paired up for the shoot - you had only one chance to move on - knock the popper down with one shot from your pistol. We had a lot of our top shooters bite the dust in the first round - some of 'em missing the popper completely - or not having enough "oomf" to knock it down...or they couldn't handle the pressure of only having ONE SHOT!

Michael "Phil A. Buster" Hahn took 1st place in the turkey shoot, followed by yours truly, Shar "Ms Fyre" Asato and rounding up top honors was Ken "Homebrew" Taylor. Congrats guys!

We all had a grand ol' time, and an even better time chowing down on some good ol' western BBQ - care of Scotty's...who will also be catering our year end party (see details on back page).

We hope y'all had fun with SASH in 2003, and hope to see you all back in 2004! Next year's shooting schedule is posted to the right. We've got dates for matches in every month next year - be sure to check the dates carefully, as we're not following the "4th Sunday" schedule any more.

We've also got a couple of months with multiple SASH events (March, June, and Sept), with the Gun Show and the Shooting Sports Fair and Hunting/Fishing Weekend events.

Annual SASH Party

Don't forget to join us at our annual End-of-Year party/raffle - the date's set for December 27th at 5:30 p.m. Directions to Jeff "El Muerte" & Cesci "Dreadnought Dolly" Wang's home is located below.

We'll be doin' our yearly board nominations and elections, as well as a "Best Dressed" competition for folks showing off their fancy "couture" on the evening of the party. We'll also be awarding the top gun trophies and the BEST part of the evening - the RAFFLE - tons of prizes to be won! We'll be renewing membership for 2004 as well.

Our "campfire cooks" will be Scotty's BBQ!! Dinner costs are: Members - $6.00 and guests - $12.50. The club will be picking up half the tab for members, as well as providing water/soda/juice for everyone. We'll also having potluck desserts - please bring your own "special" drinks and your appetite!
